What is a Rom Porting or Carrying a Rom?
Portar a Rom is the process by which you can change the system of your cell phone, that is, if your cell phone originally comes with an Android system with a certain version and with many limitations, and adding to this, it is not updated constantly correcting some errors by default, you could carry a Rom from a cell phone with similar characteristics but containing other extras or a more advanced version of Android so you can have those features on your phone.
Benefits:
  • Variety of Roms: When you carry a Rom in a satisfactory way, you will realize that there are endless possibilities and variety of Roms with which you could experiment on your cell phone.
  • Bug Fix: If you do not want to change the system, however there are still some errors, you could correct them by updating binaries, libraries or eliminating unnecessary apps that would improve the performance of your phone.
  • Root: If you do not want to root your cell phone with any application such as Kingo or King Root, or do not want to install any zip, you could add the scripts in your Rom to be rooted automatically when installed on your cell phone.
Disadvantages:
  • You yourself: If you update wrong files or that do not correspond to your cell phone, you could bricke it.
